The Lucia Light was invented in The Tyrollean Alps of Austria by clinical psychologist Dr Engelbert Winkler and neurologist Dr Dirk Proeckl. Its creation was inspired by a near death experience that Dr Winkler had at age seven. This life changing event altered his outlook on life so much that later, as a psychotherapist, he set out to empower his clients with the overwhelmingly beautiful experience of light and meditation. Dr Proeckl suggested combining solid and flickering light to create strobing effect that could be used to guide light travelers into an even deeper state of meditation. And thus the Lucia Light was born.
The purpose of the Lucia Light is to provide a colorful and immersive meditative experience in combination with a gentle form of brain entrainment. What makes this therapeutic device special is that the experience is unique to each user. Light Sources
The computer-controlled light system combines 9 light sources: The meditation lamp has 8 LEDs, which produce the stroboscopic effect. Only Lucia N°03 has an additional halogen light source, which is generally perceived as very pleasant, gentle and warm. One unique feature is that the individual light sources can each be controlled separately: the brightness of the light sources, their rate of flicker, lighting duration, sequence modes and light intervals are controllable via the Lucia No3 laptop. The special Lucia N°03 Practitioner System software allows seamless control of the individual parameters resulting in an infinite number of possible combinations.
Sessions (or Light Sequences)
With The Lucia N°03 Practitioner System you can compose your own individual sessions using various creative approaches to frequency and light intensity.
1. The Pilot method allows intuitive composition of light sessions in real time. This is particularly exciting because the sequences remain unique after their initial creation.
2. The Session Editor method allows parameters to be defined ahead of time, individually and exactly. Sessions created in this way can be edited later. There are endless possibilities for creativity and refinement. Sessions can be exchanged between trained Light Attendants and edited again and again.
3. The third option is Real Time composition. With this method sessions can be recorded or not. It is recommended to share a verbal dialogue between the composer and the user: this allows the Light Attendant to change the parameters of the session in real time, depending on the perception and preferences of the light traveler. This approach makes for a special experience.
Software
The easy-to-use software is installed on a Lucia N°03 Practitioner System laptop and is ready for use. Parameters can be controlled with a mouse for even more flexibility and functionality. Software updates are available free of charge to Lucia Light owners. They can be downloaded from the Lucia Academy online portal.
Personalized Training & certificate
The obligatory training of each Lucia Light owner (or Light Attendant) is included in the price of the system. It covers the theoretical and practical application of the Lucia N°03 Practitioner System when operating the lamp and working with clients. During a training session you will learn about general operation of the system, safety precautions, interesting techniques and how to use the various functions of the software.
